HudsonWay is developed and published by New Atlantis Studios (Nevv Atlantis LLC). We are committed to protecting your privacy. This privacy policy explains what data HudsonWay collects, how it is used, and your rights regarding that data.
The short version: HudsonWay collects no personal data, requires no account, makes no network connections, and stores everything locally on your device.
Data Collection
HudsonWay does not collect, transmit, or store any personal information. Specifically:
- No account creation is required or supported
- No personal information is requested or collected
- No email addresses, names, or contact details are collected
- No location data is transmitted to any server
- No usage analytics or telemetry data is collected
- No crash reports are sent to any external service
- No advertising identifiers are used
- No cookies or tracking technologies are used
On-Device Data
HudsonWay stores all data locally on your device. This includes:
- Bundled SQLite databases containing points of interest (farms, markets, trails, parks, restaurants, breweries, attractions, events, and emergency services)
- Bundled vector map tiles for offline map rendering
- Cell coverage overlay data
- Your app preferences and settings
All of this data is included in the app bundle or stored in the app's sandboxed container on your device. None of it is transmitted to any server.
Location Services
HudsonWay may request access to your device's location services to show your position on the map and enable "nearby" search features. Location data is:
- Processed entirely on your device
- Never transmitted to any server or third party
- Never stored or logged by the app
- Used only to center the map and calculate distances to nearby points of interest
You can use HudsonWay without granting location access. All map browsing, searching, and filtering features work without it.
Network Connections
HudsonWay is designed to work entirely offline. The app makes no network connections during normal use. All maps, data, and search functionality are bundled with the app and served from your device's local storage.
The only network activity that may occur is through Apple's standard App Store update mechanism, which is handled by iOS itself and not by the app.
Third-Party Services
HudsonWay does not integrate with any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services. There are no SDKs from Facebook, Google Analytics, Firebase, Amplitude, Mixpanel, or any other data collection service.
Data Sources
The points of interest data displayed in HudsonWay is aggregated from publicly available government and open-source datasets, including the USDA, New York State, the National Park Service, OpenStreetMap, and the FCC. This data is processed, cleaned, and bundled into the app at build time. No user data is involved in this process.
Children's Privacy
HudsonWay does not collect any personal information from anyone, including children under the age of 13. The app is safe for users of all ages.
Changes to This Policy
If we make changes to this privacy policy, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Because HudsonWay collects no data, meaningful changes to this policy are unlikely.
